Hi, I’m Lindsay Schofield, a Consultant Psychotherapist, Supervisor and Trainer. I’ve worked in private practice for over two decades, providing therapy, care and support to individuals and couples, to help them with a wide range of emotional and mental health challenges.
My approach is strongly relational and I partner with individuals to help them make sense of their challenges, to identify their goals, and then to purposefully integrate information and skills to help them make the changes they want and need.
I’ve specialised for working with trauma and dissociation and published a set of books, giving information about both and focussing on making sense of dissociative identity disorder, Routledge, 2022: Picture book; Guidebook. I provide supervision to practitioners working in different contexts, clinical and pastoral and have written and delivered my own workshops in the UK and internationally. With additional interests in promoting and supporting professional self-care, I have developed material on Compassion Fatigue – Sustaining Self.
Accreditations/Qualifications: I am accredited with the BABCP, the BACP (Senior), the ACC (Counsellor/Supervisor), and the NCPS (Senior/Supervisor). I am also a member of the ESTD, the ISSTD and a SCID-D trained assessor. I love learning and in addition to my initial qualifications and ongoing CPD, I have a MSc in Applied Trauma Psychology, a PG Diploma in CBT, a PQ Certificate in Supervision and advanced qualifications in EMDR (Level 3), PICT (Advanced Diploma/QC & former Program Director) and LI (Level 2/Peggy Pace). In my spare time, I enjoy a menagerie of animals and nature!

Therapy: I work with individuals of all ages, and also with couples. It’s important to me that each person feels heard, understood and supported as they work towards creating change.
