Therapy

…is suited to you and your challenges.

room back of head

It’s best to find someone you “click” with…someone who can help you clarify whatever is troubling you and who has training and skills to help you work out solutions that will last.

Find someone you trust…someone you feel safe with…who you believe can help and listen without judging…talk to them…meet them…and if you want to, agree on a starting phase.

Hopefully you’ll feel free to tell them if it’s not working for you.  A good professional isn’t going to take that personally, but will chat that through with you and help you if you want to move on.

Therapy for individuals and couples

There are lots of different therapy models – each one approaches difficulties slightly differently.  Some therapists subscribe to a particular therapeutic approach, using clinical guidelines to shape their work with you; some will ‘fit’ their approach to you, guided by your way of working, thinking and feeling.  I try to do both, which is why I’ve completed a wide range of training over the years.  I think it gives me more to offer, but also helps me prioritise and be sensitive to your needs.

The therapy models noted below include those in which I’ve completed higher level and post graduate qualifications.  I’ve taken the time to apply their principles to my own life so I truly have confidence they help!

They include CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), EMDR (Eye Movement, Desensitisation and Reprocessing), PICT (Parks Inner Child Therapy), LI (Lifespan Integration) and Couple’s Therapy (CBCT: Cognitive Behavioural Couples Therapy and CDBT: Couples Dialectical Behavioural Therapy).  You’ll find links to pages giving you more information about some of these if you want to read up – just ‘tap’ on the Therapy tab, and options will appear in a list below.
